The day my photography efforts paid off

This is the day I had found out I won ‘The Telegraph – Big Picture‘ photography competition.

There are not many times so far in my life where I have felt absolute happiness, but this day certainly was one. I sent my photo in on a whim that maybe; just maybe I would get some recognition of the hard work I put in…and then it happened!

The lovely email I received from Soo from The Telegraph was so lovely, and the smile from my face would have lighten up anyones day! The email said, “Congratulations, you are this week’s winner. Your photograph will appear online later today and on the back page of Telegraph Travel on Saturday”. I was still in shock (and still am to some extent), but to see MY photo in a national newspaper in print is and forever will be one of my greatest achievements.
